Hoop DMV was founded in 2024 by Davon Wilson and Leon Porter, two individuals connected by their shared passion for basketball and commitment to their community. Having known each other for years, Leon had previously participated in a men’s league organized by Davon. When the two crossed paths again and the idea of building something bigger was brought to the table, it was an easy decision. From that moment, Hoop DMV was born.

What started as a vision for a competitive men’s league has quickly evolved into a growing basketball platform serving the DMV area. Hoop DMV now hosts a wide range of events, including leagues, one on one competitions, open runs, and skill development opportunities. Every event is built around one goal, delivering high level basketball experiences that bring players and the community together.

Beyond the court, Hoop DMV is dedicated to supporting and collaborating with local businesses and brands. By partnering with organizations within the community, the platform not only creates great basketball experiences but also helps shine a light on businesses that make the DMV unique.
